Denise Rudolf Frank’s painting is an intense process of self-reflection and engagement with emotional and
societal themes, deeply rooted in her personal history with art therapy. Her works emerge from a spontaneous, physical act, whereshe applies paint directly onto a horizontally placed canvas. Using thick layers of paint applied with her hands or bottles, she expresses her inner emotions, creating a balance between abstraction and figuration. The creative process allows her to process and reflect on personal experiences.
The drying time of her works, which can sometimes last over a year, gives her space to observe what has
emerged and make targeted revisions. This phase imbues the works with a dynamic quality, intensifying the
interplay between immediate expression and a deeper engagement with the themes.

Denise Rudolf Frank, (*1993 in Vienna, Austria), studied painting at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Her works have been shown in solo exhibitions in Berlin, New York, Seoul, Paris, and Los Angeles. She has also participated in group exhibitions in Sweden, Miami, and Tokyo.
